A publication is a report of a conclusion. It is not a record of the reasoning that produced one.

The substrate, not the twin.

A mindcorpus is not a digital twin. It is the provenance-preserving substrate beneath one; a twin is only a rendering.

A mindcorpus is the longitudinal, provenance-preserving record of an individual's externally expressed intellectual activity, structured so that historical patterns of attention, judgement, association, rejection and unfinished inquiry can be computationally queried, independently of the software used to store or render them.

As execution becomes cheaper in a domain, directional judgement moves closer to the bottleneck.

The expensive part of origination has already been paid, at 20 watts a head, across every working life now in progress.

This is not only a moral argument, though it is one. It is an economic one: human thought is cheap to drill because biology has already paid to make it, and the future of technology is interwoven with biology.

What it possesses instead is content and time.

Psychology and psychoanalysis have long read the structure of language as a trace of thought, usually minutes of it. A corpus offers years.

Speech graphs quantify the structure of thought in interviews and dream reports (Mota and colleagues, 2012, 2014); semantic coherence can be measured automatically (Bedi and colleagues, 2015); rival rules for how a semantic network grows can be tested against dated data (Hills and colleagues, 2009); dense single-person data answers questions group averages cannot (Fisher, Medaglia and Jeronimus, 2018); psychoanalytic sessions have been analysed computationally for decades (Bucci, Maskit and Hoffman, 2012; Mariani and colleagues, 2023).

Custody, rights and exchange. None of it requires a buyer to own a mind.

Custody has to be independent architecturally rather than contractually.

The essay proposes a royalty or credit when others act on a direction traced to a corpus, and rights heirs could inherit for as long as the law allows. None of these rights exists today.

Every clause of that rests on attribution, which is tractable rather than solved. (Draft, line 480.) Separable rights can be licensed one at a time; dashed rights are proposed, not law.
